Unmissable layouts, healthy trade support for essentials and helpful advice join forces this weekend at the south west's premiere model railway show.

There's an air of excitement in the office this week because the World of Railways/BRM Bristol Model Railway exhibition in association with The Association of Model Railway Clubs Wales & West of England takes place this Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday. Held at the Thornbury Leisure Centre in Alveston Hill, more than 30 layouts are expected, representing the UK, North America and Europe in model form.

Pre-booking is advised as tickets are selling fast and with the selection of layouts to see, it's little wonder. Whether you're taking a friend, or making new like-minded friends, taking your partner, or the family for a fun and friendly day out, we guarantee there's much in miniature to see and keep you entertained!

Visit the World of Railways stand to claim your free 30-day trial to WOR Plus.

Are you searching for advice on an aspect of layout, or rolling stock construction, or perhaps you're interested in building your first model railway? Come along and speak with many knowledgeable modellers who can help you avoid the common pitfalls of layout construction. While seasoned modellers might hone in on a layout whose era, scale or layout subject is of interest, the show caters for all, and is a great opportunity to see what others have made. Feel free to 'borrow' ideas from layouts too – honestly, we won't judge!

If you need further research for a current project, or you'd like to learn a new modelling skill, why not stop-by one of the speciality societies, or demonstration stands to see what you might learn? And, if you know what it is you need for your layout or a project you have planned, or something you just like the look of, see what some of the trade stands have on offer new and second-hand. We're pretty confident that you can test a new purchase if you ask one of the friendly layout owners politely.
