The electronic component retailer unveils its new DCC model-railway orientated products, promising a growing range.

Electronic component specialist, DMG Electech has created a new range of DCC decoders. Produced to its own design and NMRA-compliant, samples of its 8-pin (ET201-6) and 21-pin (ET203) variants have been received by BRM for testing.

Both 8-pin and 21-pin variants have been designed for OO gauge locomotives, each with a 28mm x 15.5mm x 5mm footprint and carry the following specification:

  • Motor current 1.5A continuous / 2A peak
  • Adjustable overload protection
  • Six 100mA function outputs (including front and rear light outputs)
  • BAck-EMFwith silent motor control
  • 28-step adjustable speed table, supporting long addresses
  • Advanced consist address setting
  • Supports running in DC environment
  • Function remapping for each output
  • Adjustable braking function

Decoders are available in packs of five, with a discount and DMG Electech is making these available to stockists, too. Decoders are sold with a three year warranty, with comprehensive instructions including CV tables and their default values.

Commenting on the release of its new decoders, David Geary of DMG Electech said, "as a relatively new electronic supplier with a large range of analogue items, the decision was made to provide additional components aimed specifically at the modeller who wishes to move to DCC, or start out with DCC. These decoders are our second item in our new DCC product line whose aim is to prove that quality does not have to be expensive. We have teamed up with a leading manufacturer to produce these six function quality Decoders at very competitive prices with three year warranty."
