Phil Parker has built a diesel fuel depot from a Gaugemaster continental N gauge kit - here he gives you a quick round-up of the project.
In the July issue of BRM, Phil Parker tackles a diesel fuel depot from a Gaugemaster continental N gauge kit.
Industrial complexes can be just that – complex. Anything involving chemicals needs tanks and pipes, which on models look great once built, but can be horribly fiddly to scratch-build. A plastic kit makes life a lot simpler and this one is designed to be flexible. Looking at the box provides some inspiration, but it's not the only way to lay out the various sub-assemblies that are made up of the parts. This is good news for a couple of reasons – your layout doesn't look exactly the same as everyone else's, and the model can be shuffled around to fit your trackplan, rather than modify the track to suit the model.
In this video, Phil gives us a whistle-stop tour of the finished model with some helpful construction pointers. To read the article in full, the July issue of BRM is currently on sale and available at www.pocketmags.com/brm.
