What's in this Issue?

We have two articles about railways in the north east of Britain. The first recalls a night spent on Newcastle Central in 1975 revealing just how much traffic could be seen during the hours when few enthusiasts ventured out. The early years of diesel multiple unit operations on the North Eastern Region is the subject of another article. We have the second part of an enthusiast’s personal memories of  the ‘Deltics’ this time looking at Nos. 55012 to 55022. Moving to Scotland there is a survey of traffic at Mossend yard, looking at afternoon and evening traffic. The Glasgow ‘Blue Trains’, or Class 303s, feature in this issue’s photographic feature.

In TRACTION MODELLING the featured layout ‘Deeping Lane ’ is a compact 4mm scale diesel depot which its owner has adapted from a layout that he bought from another modeller.
