We're building a Christmas-themed train set in the office and you can get involved - here's how...
There's something quite nostalgic about the smell of burning wood on an open fire and a train set running around a tree at Christmas. It's why Hornby produced its (R1248) Santa's Express. If the purr of an electric motor as a small locomotive runs around the base of your tree sounds idyllic, imagine how great it would be if it was travelling through a snow-filled miniature wonderland! At BRM, we're going to make this a reality, though we're making it a team effort and enlisting the help of non-railway modellers - how hard can it be? And, if you're a young modeller, we'd like you to get involved, too!
Get involved, win this train set
Keen to keep the expenditure to a minimum, here's how we'll tackle the project:
- Submit your layout design that must fit on a 150cm x 100cm baseboard. The track is an oval measuring 77cm x 92cm. Three buildings are permitted and the scenery must be covered with snow. Light features are permitted.
- If your design is seen to be the best, you'll win a Hornby (R1248) Santa Express Train Set ahead of this Christmas.
- If your design is really good, we might even copy it!
On your summer holidays?
We'd love to get ideas from younger modellers, too. Send your sketches to [email protected] for a chance to win this Hornby (R1248) Santa Express.
