Warley MRC has announced that the annual exhibition at the NEC due to be held in November is postponed until November 2021.

Organisers of the Warley National Model Railway exhibition have announced that they have decided to postpone this years event until 2021 after concerns for public safety and the well-being of all exhibitors and supporters.

Exhibition Manager Nigel Smith explains:

"The Warley National Model Railway Exhibition is all about showing the best layout, trade and other exhibits to promote model railways of all sizes. Close interaction is part of the experience, particularly for the younger visitors. Social distancing and other measures mean that we cannot interact with fellow enthusiasts as we would wish.

As organisers, we are enthusiasts too and it's the highlight of our year. Therefore, as you can imagine, the decision to postpone this year's show has not been taken lightly. Our concern for the safety of our visitors, exhibitors and club members is paramount.

We considered different options, various scenarios and restrictions that could be imposed. Running an event with the current COVID-19 related restrictions - such as adhering to social distancing requirements, restricting attendance numbers and dictating the direction of people around the hall - all ultimately would have impacted negatively on the experience of those attending and therefore the very essence of the show.

The Warley Model Railway Club exhibition Team is very disappointed, but rest assured, we will continue working behind the scenes to deliver a fantastic show in 2021. In the meantime, stay safe and look after each other."

Tickets purchased for 2020 will be accepted for 2021. If a refund is required, e-mail [email protected]

The 2021 exhibition will take place on 27 and 28 November.
