Following consultations with various modellers, Trainsporters has extended the slots in its TSOO20 and TSOO21 boxes to 349mm, to accommodate the Hornby Class 800 and 802 stock.

The models are among the longest available as ready-to-run stock, and Trainsporters is delighted to now offer safe storage and transportation for them in our two box variants, also known as Trainsporters Orange and Purple boxes, allowing a complete nine-car rake of locomotives and coaches to be stored in a single box!

Priced at £40 (TS0020) and £42 (TS0021), the boxes are also available in ‘White - Extra Strong’, making them especially suited to those often on the go with their railway stock. Labels to help keep track of your stock are also included, as well as plastic tubing to give your stock added protection in transit and silica gel - ideal for long-term storage.

About the prototype/model

The new Hornby Class 800 and 802 models are particularly noteworthy additions to our collection. These bi-mode multiple-unit passenger trains, designed by Hitachi, are operated by Great Western Railway, TransPennine Express, and Hull Trains. The Class 802, part of the Hitachi AT300 product family, is equipped with more powerful diesel engines and enlarged fuel tanks compared to its predecessor, the Class 800, allowing for extended travel on unelectrified tracks, especially on the GWR region. These models are highly detailed, featuring independently controlled lights, removable nose cones, and poseable pantographs, providing a realistic and enjoyable experience for model railway enthusiasts.
