The industrial kit specialist turned RTR manufacturer seeks market advice on liveries for its forthcoming OO gauge locomotive.
Planet Industrials has launched an online survey via its website to determine the most popular liveries its customers would like to see applied to its RTR Kerr Stuart 0-6-0 'Victory' class locomotives, deliveries of which are expected in the third quarter of 2021.
CAD artwork for the locomotive is already complete and first engineering samples are expected early 2021.
With a varied career in military and industrial service, the Kerr Stuart 'Victory' class wore a number of liveries. For modellers it is suitable for freelance applications, alternative industrial uses or even survival to preservation-era layouts. In finalising its shortlist of liveries to proceed to production, Planet Industrials is conducting a survey of livery choices which it is inviting all modellers with an interest in the locomotive to complete.
James Hilton of Planet Industrials commented, "As tooling progresses in China, Steve and I have been working up the livery options for our 'Victory'. I think on our interview during the World-of-Railways Virtual Exhibition Part II where we announced the model, we said there would be three or four schemes. Well, that’s grown a little, so we’ve decided to get input from modellers on which liveries they’d like to see us take forwards.
The liveries outlined thus far include:
Plain black (suitable for 18/19 at Aberaman Colliery)
Plain black with 'ROD 608' lettering
Black with red lining (freelance)
Grey with white/black/white lining and 'IW&D 12' lettering
Grey with white/black/white lining and 'VICTORY' lettering (works photographic condition)
Grey with white/black/white lining (freelance)
Green with straw lining and 'EKR 4' lettering (note, incorrect roof profile)

Red with straw lining (suitable for Francis)
