Following its recent temporary closure, Pendon Museum will reopen this weekend, June 14th & 15th, just in time for the Madder Valley Railway special running day on Father's Day Sunday, June 15th.
Doors will open at 11am on Saturday, June 14th (with last entry at 3.15pm) and its normal calendar will resume.
Upcoming events include;
Madder Valley Railway Running Day - Father's Day Sunday 15th
To celebrate Father's Day on Sunday 15th, the historic Madder Valley Railway (pictured above) will have trains operating on the model - an event, which only happens a few times a year to help preserve it for future generations to enjoy. The recently-released Madder Valley Guide book will also be on sale. There is no additional charge of this event and no need to book in advance.
China Clay Transport by Rail exhibition and special running weekend
On the weekend of 19th & 20th July, Pendon will have an exhibition on china clay transport via rail, accompanied by two visiting model rail layouts; 'Wheal Elizabeth' created by Andrew Ullyot and Iain Rice's 'Trerice'.
Also included in the exhibition will be models that help tell the story of rail-born china clay transport from the 1930s up to the 21st Century. There will be no additional cost for the exhibition and no need to book in advance.
