If you've never tried using whitemetal castings, P&D Marsh now offer bargain sample sets on OO and N.
White metal is a very traditional material that railway modellers have been using for many years.
However, what about all the new recruits to the hobby for whom this might be a bit of a mystery? P&D Marsh Models have started to offer sample pack in OO and N scales so they can have a go at sticking and painting some castings for their layouts.
Owner Paul Andrews says, "We came up with the idea of the sample packs to try and find a way of allowing potential customers who may not have any experience of whitemetal to get hold of some castings cheaply so that they could see the quality and to allow them to experiment with the painting or glueing."
Each pack will have six separate castings randomly selected. Some of the items will vary slightly from that shown, for example, you may get a figure, animal or light but it might be a different type or pose than that illustrated.
Packs cost £1.25 which essentially allows P&D to recover the costs of the payment commission and post and packing. If customers use the website then the postage costs are set up so that a sample pack is free of any additional P+P charges (although if they order more than one then standard postage charges do apply).
