Round 1 of BRM's popular Cake Box Challenge opens for voting today.

The popular BRM Cake Box Challenge is back!

Contestants are asked to make a model containing a minimum of two railway items in a scene that will fit into a standard 8-inch square, 6 inch tall, cardboard cake box.

Last year saw so many entires, we've decided to run the compeitionfour times in 2019. The only addition to the rules is a theme and for our first go, this is "Waiting for a train".

The first set of models are complete and you can now vote for your favourite three.

Beware, this isn't an easy task. High-quality model making combined with some seriously impressive imagination has resulted in 14 very different scenes. Each builder has provided some notes, or in some cases a story to accompany their model.

The models can all be seen here along with the voting link.
