Tired of coupling incompatibility issues? This new range from Golden Valley Hobbies might be a solution...
Golden Valley Hobbies has released a range of plastic NEM coupling converters for OO gauge models. Designed to accept the variety of NEM couplings on the market, items are model-specific, covering a selection of models from the Hornby, Bachmann, Dapol, Lima, Tri-ang and Airfix ranges, past and present.
Eight variants are available:
- (GVNEM01) Conversion NEM pockets for Bachmann, Hornby, Tri-ang (2 pairs)
- (GVNEM02) Conversion NEM pockets for Lima wagons with 3mm pin (2 pairs)
- (GVNEM04) Conversion NEM pockets for Bachmann Bulleid coaches (2 pairs)
- (GVNEM06) Conversion NEM pockets for Hornby Seacow (2 pairs)
- (GVNEM03) Conversion NEM pockets for Hornby, Dapol and Airfix (2 pairs)
- (GVNEM05) Conversion NEM pockets for Lima Wagons with 4mm pin (2 pairs)
- (GVNEM08) Conversion NEM pockets Lima coach bogies (2 pairs)
Packs are priced at £4.00 each, with a list of compatible OO gauge models available to view on its website.

For conversions, a small amount of adaptation to models may be required, using a sharp craft knife/cutters, needle files, superglue and a screwdriver. Instructions for installation can be found on the Golden Valley Hobbies website.
