Based on a prototype on the Rochdale Canal, but very similar to canal locks up and down the UK, this comprehensive new kit allows the modeller to recreate one of these sizeable but not often modelled structures.
Measuring 570mm long when completed, the lock has a rise of 10’ (40mm) and includes fully detailed gates, winding gear, access ladders, bridge, and steps.
Designed to be filled with resin ‘water’ to a depth of 3mm, to blend the lock in with the adjacent canal sections, this model will enhance any scenic layout, and will sit just as easily in urban and industrial areas as in the countryside.
The kit includes laser-cut parts in 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, and 6mm MDF; etched brass ladders & other detailing parts; 3D printed winding gear; nickel-silver wire; full assembly instructions.
