The new version of the popular locomotive will arrive early 2023, with no fewer than 11 liveries offered.

Responding to strong demand from its customers and retailers, Heljan has confirmed that the OO gauge Class 33/2 will be available in limited quantities and is available to pre-order now.

The manufacturer explained, “Over the last couple of years, we've focused on the standard Class 33/0 versions, but now it's time for the 'Slim Jim' variant to come back into the limelight.”

The most popular liveries, reruns of long-sold-out editions, and a previously unreleased 'as built' variant with the original exhaust/silencer arrangement on the roof will be available for general release - the latter version is an all-new body tooling.

Standard features include illuminated headcode panels and marker lights, a 21-pin DCC decoder interface, NEM couplings, all-wheel pick-up and all-axle drive and a heavy die-cast chassis that promises excellent performance and haulage power.

Livery artwork is now approved, and preparation of factory decorated samples will commence shortly.
