It's true - the model retailer, turned manufacturer, is offering a Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) of its Plasser GPC crane free to download.

In an update to its customers, Hattons Model Railways of Widnes is offering a CAD file to download, free of charge. Expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2021, models of its forthcoming Plasser & Theurer GPC crane haven't yet surfaced, though initial CADs have been made public and are available to download for feedback and scrutiny ahead of production.

Hattons stated on its website: "This is your opportunity to be part of this exciting project and help to ensure our model is as accurate as possible. We welcome any and all thoughts [...] via email or via our RMWeb thread, so take a look and let us know what you think."

Keen to test the aseembly on my computer, I downloaded Solidwork's eDrawings and the file. It's a fine-looking model, though who will be the first to pass comments and observations on its thread on RMweb, I wonder?
