Ellis Clark Models and Darstaed reveal Pullmans for 'O'

Ellis Clark Models in collaboration with Darstaed Models has revealed a new line of coaching stock. The Pullman all-steel type Ks are to be produced for O gauge / 7mm:1ft scale, with deliveries of models expected early-2023.

Built between 1928 and 1931, the Pullman Ks were prestigious railway vehicles on the British railway network and beyond, notable in were most noticeable in iconic trains such as the ‘Queen of Scots’, ‘Harrogate Pullman’, ‘West Riding Pullman’, ‘Bournemouth Belle’ and ‘White
Pullman’. 

Revealing the specification of models alongside its inital CAD image renders, models are expected to feature detailed die-cast bogies with sprung axle boxes, under brass bodyshells. and be constructed of brass. Detailed interiors with working battery-powered table and ceiling lights are expected to feature. Sprung metal buffers, magnetic coupling corridor connectors (removable to show inner gangway detailing) are also part of the specification, while coaches are being designed to negotiate Peco second radius curves.

Said to be extensively researched and designed using 160 original drawings, alongside measurements and photographs from preserved
examples, packs of the coaches are to be made available too, provided in presentation packs.

The manufacturing duo is covering the vehicles from their introduction in 1928 to the present day, including kitchen, parlour and brake cars to cater for the quintessential coaches of British Railway luxury travel.
