Dapol issues Covid-19 operational update

Model railway manufacturer, Dapol Ltd., in accordance with government guidlines was required to shut down operation at its UK factory on March 25, 2020, though for now, it appears to have had minimal impact on its supply chain. Though its UK factory remains closed until further notice, its factories overseas are continuing as normal and where possible, its staff members in the UK are working remotely.

Neil Morrlle commented "Our design team work remotely much of the time and their workflow has been largely unaffected by the current situation". When asked about some of the manufacturer's retailer-exclusive or its own projects being produced overseas, he explained "our projects that we are progressing at our factories abroad are continuing as normal."

New lines arriving

On April 9, Dapol made an online announcement that dispatch operations would re-commence on April 15 to the public via its website shop and to Dapol stockists, via e-mail. Its warehouse crew has taken ownership of new product lines since reopening, all of which are available through a variety of Dapol stockists. More new products are reportedly en-route, too. Neil continued, "our warehouse has sufficient stocks to fulfil everyone’s Dapol modelling needs for some time to come." Dapol is continuing to monitor the situation and looks forward to returning to normal operations, though in the meantime is asking everyone to stay safe and well.

Support local

The manufacturer is pushing for many model enthusiasts to support their local retailer, "Take the time to enjoy your hobby if you can, and support your local model shop. Many of them are offering a mail order service and we are sure they would appreciate your support during these difficult times." added Neil.
