Kernow Model Rail Centre has announced an exclusive N gauge pair of Class 59s. Models will be manufactured by Revolution Trains and depict 59002 Alan J Day in Medip Rail Livery and 59101 Village of Whatley in revised ARC livery.

The Exclusive models are priced at £159.99 and both are available to pre-order with delivery expected in Q2, 2023 under the following codes:

KMRC Class 59 Revolution Trains exclusive 59101 ARC livery

The Kernow Model Rail Centre exclusive detailed model features a die-cast chassis, wheels to NMRA RP25 standards, a detailed body with etched and wire separately fitted parts, plus separate (not solid) angled struts connecting body to chassis to allow distinctive see-through appearance of the prototype. Buffer beam detailing sees one end super-detailed with solid air dam, air pipes and cosmetic coupler all fitted, (alternative solid air dam supplied for coupler end, and open air dam for those wishing to couple at both ends), body-mounted, kinematic close couplers with NEM coupler socket, working accurate headlights including working marker lights (switchable using easy to access microswitches or with DCC).

The model also includes a lift off, "easy-access" central body section to allow easy access to the Next 18 DCC decoder socket and light switches. Models include a factory-fitted speaker for easier sound fitting.

In 2000, 59002 Alan J Day was painted in the unique attractive green, light grey and orange Mendip Rail livery, the only 59 to carry this livery. 59002 is a 'standard' 59/0 in its modified form with NRN pods on the roof above the cab rears and with modified yaw dampers (all of which are correctly modelled on its model).

59101 Village of Whatley was re-painted in revised ARC livery in 1998 to match the style of the revised Foster Yeoman livery (the design is the same with only the band colour changing from blue to yellow and the company logo changing).

ARC was bought by Hanson shortly after and 59101 was later repainted into Hanson livery.

Graham Muspratt, Development Manager said: “Our range of N gauge KMRC Exclusives continues to grow, this time in partnership with Revolution Trains, with the addition of these two unique and distinctive Class 59 liveries."
