Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the society, the 0-6-0DH models are prepared for despatch to members.

The N Gauge Societies' first exclusive locomotive is being prepared for shipment to its members. The Hunslet 0-6-0DH model, tooled for the society by Revolution Trains, is being offered in a choice of liveries, with an option to purchase the model undecorated. Models feature a stay-alive capacitor, with some being fitted with a flashing yellow roof beacon, controlled by a factory-fitted DCC chip configured to work on DC and DCC.

The benefit is that DC users get the functionality of the light and stay-alive, without having to install a decoder if they choose to upgarde to DCC. Models have low gearing for smooth running, NMRA standard wheels and NEM coupler sockets. Bonnet and handrail details vary where appropriate.

The Hunslet 0-6-0 diesel-hydraulic shunters were built from the 1960s onwards and saw use in collieries, steel works, refineries, quarries, paper mills and other industrial locations. The last locomotive was built in 1988 for Caledonian Paper in Irvine and at least 23 still survive in industrial use, with more in preservation.
