Locomotion Models has announced the arrival of its exclusive Flying Scotsman - British Empire Exhibition Condition Model just in time for the start of the Flying Scotsman at Christmas event at Shildon.
To celebrate the arrival of these models, and the centenary of Flying Scotsman, an exclusive advent deal is also being offered. Anyone who purchases a Flying Scotsman - British Empire Exhibition Condition model before 25/12/23, will receive a free gift, free shipping and be automatically entered into a prize draw to win a bottle of Flying Scotsman Centenary Whisky, worth £95.
In collaboration with Hornby, the new exclusive model costs £250.00 and is available directly from the Locomotion Models website.
The British Empire Exhibition was opened on April 23, 1924, and it was this event that made the Flying Scotsman famous. The exhibition showcased the engine as an iconic symbol of British design and engineering, and from this point, it went on to appear at many more publicity events for LNER. By the time it appeared at the British Empire Exhibition, the locomotive had been renumbered 4472 and named ‘Flying Scotsman’ after the daily service between Edinburgh and Kings’ Cross.
