New to its 4mm:1ft scale range of 3D-printed kits is a diagram 23a hairdressing saloon, as used in the 1928 and 1932 'Flying Scotsman' Trains.

LNER kit manufacturing specialist, Isinglass Models has added to its range of 3D-printed coach kits in 4mm:1ft scale (OO) with a customisable model. Visitors to its website can select its Gresley 61ft 6in coach and have it printed as a diagram 23 eight compartment 'as-built' coach, diagram 23a 1928 hairdressing saloon or diagram 23a 1932 hairdressing saloon and cocktail bar. Customers can specify if bogies and an underframe are required, upon checkout.

Two coaches were converted from diagram 23 corridor thirds to run in the 1928 and 1932 Flying Scotsman trains. The 1928 conversion retained five compartments plus a coupe and included a hairdresser's shop and a ladies toilet compartment. In 1932, a further two compartments were removed to form a cocktail bar, becoming a buffet in 1933.
