World of Railways Virtual Exhibition

THE DOORS ARE OPEN!!

The backbone of any show is the layouts; we have selected some of our favourite layouts, which have featured in the pages of BRM over the years with full articles, photos and video to bring you the visitor experience of learning about the models on show and hear from the builders. You will get to see the layouts in action. The next best thing to being there!

Now, go grab a cup of tea and enjoy!

HEAD TO THE EXHIBITION

BRITAIN’S BIGGEST VIRTUAL MODEL RAILWAY SHOW RETURNS!

Back by popular demand, we’re delighted to announce that the next instalment of our #BigWORshow event will take place this winter, across the weekend of December 4-5, 2021.

Now well established, the World of Railways Virtual Exhibition is hugely popular, drawing more visitors than any model railway show in the UK, and this event is set to be our most entertaining yet!

Popular features that made the previous show a success will remain, including our live feed, which will be populated with new content at least every 10 minutes!

There’ll be competitions galore across the two days, practical demonstrations from well-respected modellers, interviews with some of the biggest names in the hobby, and much more.

We’re really excited to welcome everyone to our official opening on Saturday, December 4 at 09:30 GMT for two days of fantastic model railway entertainment and exciting challenges – don't forget to tell your friends.

BIG NAMES AND BIG PRIZES!

We’ve really pushed the boat out this year, with a range of new features, including guest modelling panels answering your questions, and a Christmas shopping segment you’ll not want to miss. But don’t worry, we’ve not changed too much. Fan favourites remain, including the hugely popular Kids Zone, competitions, puzzles, exclusive interviews and more.

Exclusive content on offer over the two days, includes interviews with Pete Waterman, Jenny Kirk, Simon Kohler and more, plus a behind-the-scenes look at the 121 Collection, a trip to the Severn Valley Railway, and a visit to the Crewe Heritage Centre, to name a few.

We’ve also been busy interviewing some of the key people who drive our hobby, from manufacturers to retailers – make sure you tune in next weekend as there may be a surprise or two!

A #BigWORshow wouldn’t be complete without its competitions! There’s something for all the family across the weekend, from ‘spot the difference’, puzzle games and colouring for younger viewers, with a fabulous selection of prizes to win for adults, from a Hornby Queen Elizabeth and limited edition Merchant Navy, to an Oxford Rail modern air-braked Warwell and Bachmann BR Mk. 1 coaches.

What you may have missed...

Following the success of our first, second and third  #BigWORshow event, which drew more than 100,000 visitors to our website over each weekend – more than at any model railway show in the UK – and with such fantastic feedback, we’ve proved the concept of a virtual exhibition works.

This time around, we intend to introduce new features to make the user experience even better. We’re also planning the content to be even bigger and better than before.

We’re really excited to welcome everyone to our official opening on Saturday, December 4 at 09:30 GMT for two days of fantastic model railway entertainment and exciting challenges. Don't miss it – we'll see you there, virtually, of course!
