The National Festival of Railway Modelling - Demos Talks & More
What happened at the 2019 event?? The BRM Stand
The BRM Stand is where we’ll be bringing Britain’s fastest-growing model railway magazine to life! It’s the place to find the BRM team, together with regular magazine contributors to get one-to-one modelling advice and take advantage of the magazine’s great show subscription offer or buy the latest copy of the magazine.
Demonstrations on exhibitor stands all weekend
Stand 14 - Green Scene – Flocket – Static grass applicator
Stand 81 - GC Weathering – painting figures
Stand 30 - James Green – Unique painting finishes
Stand 22 - Petite properties – Weathering and exterior finishes
Stand 87 – Tony Wright
Tony will be demonstrating how he builds locos and stock, mainly in OO Gauge, and principally in metal. Soldering techniques will be shown. He'll also be building simple wagon kits in plastic. Many of the items on display will have appeared in BRM.
Also, loco-doctoring service. Bring along your ailing engine and I'll try and fix it. If successful, a donation to CRUK will be requested
Market Deeping Model Railway Club
Join Market Deeping and Sleaford Model Railway clubs as they build a model railway for local Peterborough charity, Little Miracles.
Live demonstrations will feature throughout the weekend, offering advice on everything from laying track to ballasting, wiring, card kit construction, model scenery and more. Say hello - and don’t be afraid to ask questions!
Over the two days, the clubs will attempt to build an entire layout from scratch, while also offering the public a chance to have a go themselves. There'll be members working on various elements of the layout's construction, so no matter what time of day you visit the stand, there will be something exciting to see.
FREE Gift for pre-booked children tickets!
We are excited to announce that we are working with LCUT Creative to give all children with pre-booked tickets a laser cut weighbridge kit made with conservation grade wood fibre boards (rrp £3.99). Aimed at the 7-8+ ages (adult supervision required). Requires sharp hobby knife and PVA/Wood Glue to finish. Made using coloured boards so that out of the box it doesn't need any painting (can be repainted/weathered if desired with either acrylics or enamels). Please collect from the children's area at the show.
