Analogue Turnout

We often see people at shows walk past our stand and mutter “DCC? That’s not for me…” without noticing the huge range of tools and accessories we have for those with analogue (or “DC”) layouts!

Here’s just one example - traditional analogue turnout control would involve several elements:

Elements
- On-Off-On centre sprung toggle switches wired from a CDU power supply.
- Three wires per turnout from the control panel to the turnout motors.
- Microswitch on each turnout (or frog juicers) to change the polarity of the frog.
- Feedback switch on each turnout and three wires back to the control panel for a route confirmation LED.
- Separate power supply and resistors for the LEDs.

Before you know it, you’re reaching for the paracetamol before sitting in the corner of the room and rocking slowly back and forth trying to find your “happy place”...

Step 1

Pick up the power supply for your new turnout control system. This is the DCP-SPS12

This provides power for the turnout motors, switches and LEDs - simply plug in the two 12v power supplies and push in the barrel connectors!

Step 2

Choose the colour of panel LED you like, then grab the correct number of switches for your layout. Sold in packs of SIX, the Cobalt Analog Switch Packs include push-ﬁt, pre-wired, plug & play Mimic LEDs and are available in the following colours:
