VIDEO: Working with wire on your model railway

aa8bdb25-ecc8-41f9-a802-def0d2d18191

When it comes to electrics it needn't be scary, as BRM's Phil Parker explains in this great video. You'll need a soldering iron (nothing too big or too small!), solder, wire cutters and, of course, wire!

Phil starts by showing you how to tin wire, followed by joining two pieces of wire using your soldering iron. He also shows you how to wire track and then, if you were to make a mistake, how to un-do soldered joints.

A model railway exhibition is a great place to ask experts any modelling-related questions. Click here to find out about three of the UK’s leading exhibitions.
