Hattons has showcased its recently-launched FEA and RHTT wagons at The London Festival of Railway Modelling and confirms that both models will be sold through its network of over 100 retailers for the first time.

Previously all Hatton-made models were sold exclusively through the firm, however this time the decision was made to expand to its network and, according to the firm, pre-orders had been very promising. In particular the Network Rail RHTT wagons, which are one of the most recognisable models in the range.

In 2003, Network Rail ordered 50 FEA-F container wagons to replace a small and increasingly unreliable fleet of Rail Head Treatment Trains (RHTT). They designed three types of the module to be used during Autumn when leaves caused trains to slip on the rails.

Hattons has produced four two-wagon versions of the RHTT, with two extension packs available to enlarge your train to three wagons. Prices start from £59.

It’s going to be a busy 12 months for Hattons, with a range of new products due to be launched, all of which can be ordered now. Closely following the FEA and RHTT wagons will be the O gauge LNER Class A3 and A4 4-6-2 in May and July, priced at £750. In August the OO gauge Class 66 will be in stock priced from £150, and finally, in January 2020, the N gauge LMS Beyer-Garratt 2-6-0-0-6-2 and 00 gauge YOB Plasser 12t GPC Crane, both available in a variety of versions, will be available priced from £199 and £69 respectively.
