For the post-2016 era modeller, these new arrivals for infrastructure trains have much to offer.

Following the recent introduction of a 'Lobster' wagon for OO, Graham Farish has now released the model for N scale. Andy York takes a closer look at the model in the October 2023 issue of BRM, available with a World of Railways Plus subscription, or as a single issue.

This is a useful addition for the modeller of the contemporary scenes with the wagons found in uniform rakes or mixed with other Network Rail-liveried ballast wagons.

The 'Lobster' is an adaptation of earlier bolster wagons, retaining the chassis frame and ribbed steels body replacing the planked deck, and utilising Y25C bogies.

Graham Farish has released two models, one with disc brakes and hand wheels (377-615A) as reviewed and one with traditional brake blocks and levers (377-615).

Plastic underframe? No – it's a die-cast component, with a low centre of gravity for stable running.
