Train Trax & JS Models launch the Hex-TRAK Modular System for N Gauge

Based on the Kato Unitrack system, these hexagonal modules can be combined in many different ways to build large or small layouts.

Hex-TRAK is an exciting new concept in modular model railways. Smaller, simpler, and easier to store & handle than the larger T-TRAK Modules, but with more space for scenery than the Kato 'MiniCircus' diorama modules, the Hex-TRAK modules can be combined in many different ways to build large or small single track layouts.

A double-height module even allows for running on multiple levels. It is designed to be used in conjunction with standard height modules and embankment modules, and due to the height difference between levels of 60mm is also fully compatible with Kato's extensive range of bridges, piers, and viaduct track.

Each level can be fitted with either 248mm of straight track (Kato 20-000) or 216mm radius curves (Kato 20-170 & 20-171). Most Kato rolling stock will handle this, but due to the tight radius some larger stock, or stock from other manufacturers, may struggle. Junctions are also possible, using the Kato 'Compact' 150mm radius points (though this will limit the rolling stock that will happily traverse the modules).

The double-height module is designed so that the upper level can be removed, in order to access the track(s) on the lower level for cleaning & maintenance. The upper level can also be rotated relative to the lower, to alter the configuration allowing more variation in track designs.

Laser cut from high-quality 6mm MDF, the double-height module measures 248mm (across the flat edges) by 286mm (point-to point), with an overall thickness of 72mm.

This looks like a great table-top module system!
