Kidderminster's Engine House prepares for 7mm:1ft scale event to bolster visitor numbers to heritage railway.

The Severn Valley Railway is to host its third O Gauge Get Together over the weekend of October 7-8 at The Engine House, Highley. With six layouts attending ranging from 'Newchapel Junction' at 53ft long, 'Central Works' depicting urban industry to 'Melinau’r Abaty’s' rural narrow gauge in Wales, the event promises much 7mm:1ft scale inspiration.

Parking at Highley won't be possible, and the railway is recommending visitors ride aboard the trains. Gauge O Guild members are promised a discount on tickets on presentation of their membership card. Entry to the Engine House is free to SVR ticket holders, with the organisers suggesting a donation if they arrive by other means.

All SVR trains have wheelchair accessible coaches, with wheelchair access to the Engine House. Most trains have a buffet car, with on-site catering at the Engine House.
