Supercast adds Robert Stephenson to figure range

Joining its range of 4mm:1ft scale cast metal figures is a cast metal minature of one of Britain's engineering icons.

Mike Pett, owner of Supercast has shown his latest figure creation to emerge from the backroom metal casting works of his model shop in Ramsgate, Kent. Cast in bronze for a plinth (sold separately by the retailer), the figure of the 'Father of Railways" (1781-1848) is available painted, or un-painted.

A portrait of George Stephenson. The engineer and his son's company (Robert Stephenson and Company), created the first steam locomotive to carry passengers on a public rail line, the Stockton and Darlington Railway in 1825.
