Railhead will make both its debut appearance at a railway show and launch its first-ever set of collectible figures this weekend at the London Festival of Railway Modelling at Alexandra Palace on 15 and 16 March 2025.

Railhead has chosen five railway engineers for its first set: ‘20th Century Speed and Power’, which will be available both as a strictly limited edition of 90 individually numbered hand-painted sets and in an unpainted version. The five engineers featured are:

  • Oliver Bulleid - designer of the Merchant Navy, West Country, and Battle of Britain Pacifics for the Southern Railway.
  • George Jackson Churchward - designer of the City, Saint, and Star class locomotives for the GWR.
  • Sir Nigel Gresley - designer of the Flying Scotsman, Hush-Hush, P2, and Mallard, the world’s fastest steam locomotives, for the LNER.
  • Sir William Stanier - designer of the Black Five, Coronation, Royal Scot, and Jubilee class locomotives for the LMS.
  • Robert Riddles - designer of the British Railways Standard classes including Britannia and Evening Star, the last steam locomotive built by BR.

Alongside the sets, the stand at the Alexandra Palace Model Railway show will also feature Railhead’s premium merchandise for lovers of rail, including an exclusive range of British-designed t-shirts and posters available nowhere else.

The hand-painted limited edition will retail at £69 and the packs of five figures will be individually numbered with a certificate of authenticity signed by the full Railhead team in recognition of its status as the first set of its kind. The unpainted edition gives modellers the opportunity to provide their own finish and will retail at £19.
