East Devon visitor attraction, Pecorama, has announced the 50th anniversary of its highly popular model railway exhibition this month.
To commemorate this milestone, Pecorama and its model railway owner, PECO, are releasing a limited-edition gold-themed commemorative OO-9 gauge wagon. This exclusive model is one of only 50 units, each uniquely numbered. Available exclusively at the Pecorama Model Railway Shop and its website, this special edition wagon is a tribute to 50 years of passion, craftsmanship, and dedication to the world of model railways.
Adding to this limited offer, one of the fifty wagons will hold a special surprise under its removable top – a golden ticket. The lucky recipient of this golden ticket will win a unique VIP experience, including a personal tour of the PECO Model Railways factory. This tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at the meticulous process of model railway engineering and manufacture. The winner will also exclusively collaborate with the PECO design team - to create their own one-of-a-kind wagon, and receive a £50 voucher to spend in The Model Railway Shop at its headquarters in Beer.
This summer, the exhibition will also host a golden trail competition, where visitors will get the chance to win a £300 voucher by finding small golden objects on each of its model railway layouts. The model railway exhibition in Beer has grown significantly since its inception, attracting visitors from around the globe.
"We are incredibly proud to celebrate 50 years of our model railway exhibition," commented Chairman Michael Pritchard. "This limited-edition gold wagon and the golden ticket experience are our way of saying thank you to our loyal visitors, and customers, who have supported us over the years."
Exhibition Manager, Andrew Beard also added: “Having joined the company nearly 50 years ago myself and building the exhibition from scratch, I am proud to be part of a legacy that I hope will continue to inspire and delight visitors of all ages, for many more years to come.”
