Accurascale releases new images of Transpennine Express Mark 5 coaches

Accurascale has announced that the CAD design for the Transpennine Express Mark 5 coaches has been completed, with CAD renders made available for view of the complete rake.

The Mark 5 project has proven to be a mammoth task, with the design of the TPE and Caledonian Sleeper stock continuing over the last few months, along with survey trips to Polmadie and Longsight depots. Significant progress has been made with the completion of the CAD for the TPE Mark 5 set, and CAD for the Caledonian Sleeper sets well underway. Delivery of the OO models of TPE and Caledonian Sleeper stock is still on course for Q2, 2020.

Accurascale is offering two different TPE Packs with two different running numbers to allow modellers to have two sets of unique coaches on their layouts. Prices for the OO model is £225 per set of five coaches, which can be paid upfront, or a £30 deposit can be paid to secure an order, with the balance payable when the coaches arrive in stock. Accurascale is also working with Revolution Trains, who are offering these models in N Gauge. 

The Mark 5s will have a very high specification coach-specific details, including but not limited to;

• Separately applied etched metal and high-fidelity plastic detail parts, including handrails, brake pipes
• NEM standard coupling sockets with mini-tension-lock couplers with Kinematic close coupling system and provided close coupling bars
• Prism Free Glazing
• Fully detailed Underframe
• Fully detailed and painted / printed accurate interiors
• Fully detailed Lighting Pack, including:
  • Directional lighting, DC and DCC (Driving Trailer only)
  • Interior Coach lighting with Stay-Alive Capacitor
  • Illuminated destination boards
• RP25-110 wheels OO wheels with provision for re-gauging to p4 and EM gauge
• Fully sprung metal buffers where applicable
• Extra fine factory-fitted pipework
• Minimum Radius 438mm (2nd Radius Set-track)
• Coach Length: 289mm
