The long-established provider of laser-cut wooden rolling stock kits, is under new ownership and this is the first item of rolling stock to be reintroduced.
The Hudson Rugga tipper wagon kits, for both 32mm and 45mm gauge, are made from whitemetal castings and etched brass, to build a model of the prolific two-foot gauge wagon – the particular specification being the 27 cubic foot, type C, stronger construction, with central stiffener for loco haulage.
The model has scale diameter steel wheels running in specially machined brass bearings, one-piece white cast metal chassis frame, cast end stanchions, axleboxes and skip ends. The skip body (with its curved shape and rivet detail pre-formed) is etched brass as are the skip end capping strips and working catch levers.
The 45mm gauge version follows prototypical practice, it being re-gauged with larger gussetted brackets supporting the axleboxes.
