Prototype of High Speed Train (HST) made possible with new kit from Asis 3D, utilising donor bodies from ex-Lima/Hornby Railroad tooling.

3D-model design and component print specialist, Asis 3D has created prototype HST cab ends for 4mm:1ft scale/OO gauge.

The one-part cab ends feature the distinctive shape of the prototype units and are 3D resin printed. The 4mm:1ft scale cabs are designed to convert a Lima or Hornby HST power car into the prototype Class 252 HST power cars. Cabs are priced at £30.00 a pair and don't include glazing, buffers or interior detail.

The 3D modelling of the cabs has been reportedly created using original BR drawings. The models include etched crew doors and front coupling access panel.

Proprietor of Asis 3D, Andrew Sisley said, "After a lot of head scratching and research, I’ve managed to 3D resin print the cab ends. These used to be available as a whitemetal kit from Genesis, but disappeared some years ago. While there was a plan by Rapido Trains UK to produce the prototype power car, this got cancelled, and while Dapol has produced it in 'N', there’s nothing available in 'OO'.
