Kernow Model Rail Centre has revealed exclusive N gauge Mk. 3 and Mk. 2b Royal Train coach packs in Royal Claret livery.

The current Royal Train comprises of seven Mk3 vehicles along with two former BR Mk. 2b Brake Corridor Firsts that provide Couchette accommodation for staff, and one is fitted with a generator to provide an independent power supply to the train.

The formation of the Royal Train is varied according to who is on board and the type of journey, therefore not all vehicles always appear on each Royal Train service.

Each of the vehicles within the Royal Train fleet is unique and two have now been redesignated following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, with Mk3 2903 originally HM The Queen's Saloon now known as HM The King’s Saloon, while Mk3 2904 formally HRH The Duke of Edinburgh's Saloon becoming HM The Queen Consort’s Saloon.

The Royal Train is operated by DB Cargo, which provides the motive power and is maintained at Wolverton Works in Buckinghamshire, which has been associated with the Royal Train since 1842.

The KMRC coach packs are being produced by Graham Farish. These coaches are from the original Graham Farish tooling without interiors, this permits window and door arrangements for the Royal Train coaches to be reproduced.
