In what is expected to raise £20,000 for the NHS, model manufacturer, Hornby has today announced 500 models in a limited-edition livery, celebrating the achievements of Colonel Tom Moore, as applied to GBRf 66731 during an unveiling on April 29.

Hornby has been inspired by the achievements of Colonel – formerly Captain – Tom Moore who has raised more than £29 million for the NHS by completing 200 laps of his garden in the days leading up to his 100th birthday. GB Railfreight, Porterbrook and Neil Booth of Railwayana Auctions teamed up to create a special livery on one of GB Railfeight’s Class 66 locomotives, 66731. Unveiled yesterday during a ceremony which respected social distancing measures, 66731 Captain Tom Moore serves as a special 'thank you' to the national hero and the NHS.

Available exclusively via the Hornby website, the manufacturer is taking pre-orders for the special-edition locomotive via its website.
