While filming for a new series of videos for World of Railways TV subscribers and World of Railways Plus members, Howard Smith and Phil Parker found interest in a miniature signal gantry on the 10.25in gauge railway.

Leicestershire's Stapleford Park Miniature Railway has much to offer the model enthusiast. Indeed, it has a great deal to offer the family for a day out during an event running day, when vintage vehicles or period re-enactment groups set up in the field adjacent.

For the rest of the year however, it keeps a somewhat low profile. Until Howard and Phil descended on it, last Friday. Coming soon to World of Railways TV (free to subscribers of BRM) is a guide on steaming one of its 10.25in gauge locomotives from scratch.

We follow the process from lighting the first paraffin-soaked rag in the firebox on the railway's 4-4-2 'Atlantic' No. 751 John H Gretton, to taking it for a complete circuit of the railway, the two of us in tow on a maintenance wagon, armed with cameras!
