Images of Engineering Prototype (EP) samples of the manufacturer's forthcoming two-axle hopper wagon collaboration with KMS Railtech and Trains4U are circulated.
Cavalex Models has shown images of engineering prototype samples of a selection of its new HAA and CDA hopper wagons for OO gauge (4mm:1ft scale).
Announced as a collaboration with KMS Railtech and Trains4U in September, 2020, the manufacturer is promising a newly-tooled HAA family of hopper wagons in 4mm:1ft scale.
Commenting on the samples received, Alex Perkins of Cavalex said, "we are really excited to show off our HAA and CDA EP samples which have arrived for review. There are a final few tweaks to be made, however we are really happy with how they are shaping up and feel that the model definitely captures the look of the HAA."
Etched hood detail looks to add a touch of finesse to the injection-moulded bodies.
Alex continued, "We are aware that some parts have been incorrectly fitted to the wrong version, such as the CDA buffers being fitted to a HAA sample. This along with other observations will be added to the list for attention ahead of the painted samples. At this stage the factory has been testing the moulds, and checking parts and assembly. We will review the samples and provide our feedback to the factory in due course."
Final alterations to models are to be made ahead of painted samples, expected to be produced after Chinese New Year. For further details and updates on the models, visit the Cavalex website.
