ACE Products adds Southern locomotive kits to range

Following the acquisition of the DJB Engineering range of models, the manufacturer releases Southern and LNER locomotive kits for O gauge.

Manufacturer, ACE Products has released a kit of the Bullied streamlined Merchant Navy 'Pacific' steam locomotive. Illustrated is a constructed model of one of its 7mm:1ft (1:43.5) scale kits built to depict one of the second series of 10 locomotives built.

Design work is also nearing completion on a kit to depict the first 10 Merchant Navy 'Pacifics' with their detail differences. This second kit is expected to become available this summer, at which time a price will be published on its new website.

In other news, following its acquisition of the DJB Enginnering range of locomotive kits, ACE Products is hoping to return the sought after kits to market. Work is proceeding on the re-introduction of the DJB kit for the BR Rebuilt 'West Country' and 'Battle of Britain' locomotives. The kit will include the 5,500 gallon tender and many lost-wax castings.

Other DJB kits available in its stable include the Drummond M7 0-4-4T, the Maunsell 'Q' Class 0-6-0 and the SR 'Schools' Class. In addition, it is making available a new kit for the G4 (GER S44), for those modelling the Great Eastern Railway in 'O'. The locomotive was designed for the London suburban traffic and later used on many branchlines.

With the Bluebell Railway announcing its intention to build a new SECR 'E' Class 4-4-0, it has made available a 7mm:1ft scale kit for the locomotive. No. 516 was used as to haul the Royal Train which could add interest to the Southern modeller's train roster.
