A magical trip for children up to the age of 10 promised this year on the Mid Suffolk Light Railway.
The Mid Suffolk Light Railway has said that its 2022 'Santa Special' trains aren't to be missed. Its steam trains run from Brockford Station to ‘North Pole Halt’, for an individual visit to Santa at his Christmas Guards Van. Each child is to receive a present.
Visitors, especially children, are promised a unique atmosphere created at Suffolk’s only standard gauge award-winning railway museum. The Santa Special’s genuine Great Eastern Railway Victorian four-wheeler coaches are an historical experience for any passengers. Early booking is recommended, and tickets will be on sale from October 6, with six days to choose from: December 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 and 18, with eight trains per day, the first departing at 10.00.
Advanced booking only, compartments for two – eight people priced at £14.00 per person, minimum 2 passengers – £28.00.
Atmospheric lighting created by a collection of vintage lamps from the Historical Lighting Association.
Its stations at Brockford and ‘North Pole Halt’, its Museum and café, will all be decorated in a festive style. On their return from their Santa visit, passengers will find Christmas crafts, hot drinks, festive food and even mulled wine, available to purchase.
A traction engine in steam and a Dutch street organ is also promised on site to give a festive feel and, for children (of all ages), there will be model layouts.
