Austrian manufacturer applies new livery to its Flexity Wien tram set for 1:87 scale, replicating the newly-released prototype.

Halling Modelle is celebrating the release to traffic of the 1000th tram by manufacturer, Alstom, with a new model release. The 1000th set is a Flexity Wien for Wiener Linien and will be in daily service for the public transport system of Vienna, carrying unmistakable lettering.  Models of the Flexity 345 feature the lettering on both sides, and are lined with transfers. Prices are €219.00 DCC-ready and €325.00 DCC sound-fitted with lights, using its onboard NEM-652 socket.

The model manufacturer commented, "[We are] pleased to be able to offer you the brand new model of the Flexity Wien 345 in time for the maiden voyage of the great prototype. From the first photos of the vehicle at the Alstom factory site to the completion of the model, just over two weeks have passed. We would like to thank all those involved for their excellent cooperation, which made this possible!"

Since 1990, Alstom Austria, which took over Bombardier Transport in 2021, has been manufacturing modern trams in Vienna for global customers from Austria to Australia. The Flexity Vienna will replace the last high-floor tram models in the coming years, with the aim to make its public transport system barrier-free. The units are already in use on five lines, with three more planned.
